Does psyllium husk supplement increase risk of cancer? .

Package has a prop 65 warning. kind of scary but should I be scared. I heard it has that warning because if the natural lead that occurs in the growing process so they have to put the warning on the package. Idk I sounds scary loll

Take good quality psyllium if recommended for you or if it make sense. Psyllium does not increase the risk of cancer, it is either neutral, or likely lowers the risk of cancer. Colon cancer is likely a common one that it will reduce, but there is a potential it may reduce the risk of other cancers due to beneficial impacts on your microbiome.

Yes, get fibre mostly from whole foods. And yes, ideally consider psyllium as a food to use in for example smoothie and oatmeal/porridge, but it’s a positive thing.

Unless you’re living in the polar regions you should be able to eat normal fibre with your meals and not a supplementary fibre like psyllium. Most things in excess quantities increase your risk of cancer so being over dependent on this will do the same.
