Don’t underestimate how powerful is to have support from your family

As a lot of people in this sub are here to reap the benefits of IF and lose weight, I wanted to mention how important is having your family’s support through this.

I’ve been stressing a lot because I wanted to do IF around my family’s schedule. It never worked, my husband works late some times, kids want to eat out on the weekends. School schedule and gym didn’t align. Etc…

I had a heart to heart with them, sometimes we put ourselves second to everyone else and stress how we are going to make it work. My family is huge in eating dinner together but by the time my husband came from work, it was very late.

So I told them what my goals were and how I needed their understanding and support. I told them to sacrifice some table time for a few months, that I will cook early and they can eat as they come from school and that I needed to go to the gym in the morning because it made my IF schedule and work schedule easier.

They were so willing and supportive! Why was I stressing?! This last few days has been amazing! I work from home so I open my feeding window after the gym and while everyone is gone from the house. I can eat what I need to eat without temptations from their foods. I go to bed early and wake up refreshed for my gym or walking routine. It’s not just about IF for me. My environment influences a lot so I’m happy now.

Answer

My family supports my journey but it doesn’t stop my mom preparing delicious meals during my fasting period lol.

My mom often cooks late and it was during my fasting period when she told me to cook the spring rolls. I had to fight the temptation to eat while cooking the delicious food!
