Fasting and strength training

I’ve been doing a minimum of 16:8 since early November. I started strength training again after a looooong multi year break. I usually work out near the end of my fast. My energy level is good, no issues completing my 30-40 minutes of cardio and 40 minutes of strength training. But I’ve never been this sore in my life! Every workout. 3-4 days a week for a month. Horrifically unsustainably sore. I’m pushing myself on weight/reps, I have an outdoor event job that starts to ramp up in late spring, need to build strength for it.

Could fasting bring effecting recovery? Or is this just what working out feels like at 35? Im getting 120ish grams of protein a day, a gallon of water, and as much sleep as I can manage.

Tips appreciated!

It’s pretty normal. If you consistently keep training the body starts adjusting and you don’t get as sore and eventually you will stop getting sore altogether.

I don’t normally get sore since i have been consistently training for a couple of years however i introduced bulgarian split squats recently and holy crap walking becomes hard for 3-4 days after. The exercise seems to hit muscles in my leg which other leg exercises must have not been getting.
