Fasting questions- food/times with meds

Hey everyone! So I take medication twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Both require to have at least a bit of food, like a piece of fruit. Does it break fasting if I eat like an apple or banana during the ‘fast’. I have to take the medication at specific times, (6:30 am, and then around 9 pm). Would it break a 16-8 morning fast if I had an apple with my meds?

Answer

Technically, yes. But I firmly believe in not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. Example: brushing your teeth for 20 seconds is better than not brushing at all.

Go ahead with IF, and do it imperfectly. You gotta take your meds with food and that’s most important. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on IF altogether. Don’t let the purists here tell you otherwise. It’s true you probably won’t get the full extent of potential benefits of IF, sure, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all of the good stuff. A small snack in the morning won’t negate all of the other aspects you could enjoy. So I say go for it.
