Feeling sick

I’m currently fasting my stopwatch tells me it’s been 42 hours I plan to get as close to 72 hours!

I’m not doing this to loose weight I have some unrelated-health issues I’m trying to see if fasting helps. I’m currently 65kg and 6’1 23M

I’ve been in taking water only. I have been feeling very very sick like I’m about to throw up and I get very dizzy. Is this normal. I haven’t thrown up and doubt there would be anything cause fasting.

It comes and goes just wanted to make sure it’s a normal side effects especially for someone’s first extended fast, I plan to break it at 72 hours.

Answer

Are you supplementing electrolytes? It could be due to lack of sodium/potassium/magnesium. Also you are at the low end of a normal BMI and approaching being underweight of your height. You may not have the fat reserves to sustain an extended fast comfortably if you’re not someone who is experienced with fasting.

Answer

We are at the same time length of fasting and I am fasting for the same reasons except I feel totally fine. I am taking electrolytes with every drink, I do a little less than a fourth of a teaspoon of mixed electrolytes. I am also taking l glutamine to heal my gut, and also like all of my supplements.
