Lifetime chocoholic here. Curious what the communities thoughts are.
That’s generally up to you to decide. As a broad answer, I’d say more than 10-15% of your daily caloric intake. Eat 85-90% clean, and feel free to fill the rest with chocolate. As far as “junk” food goes, you could do a lot worse than dark chocolate.
There was a study I read recently saying that piece of 85% dark chocolate prevented depression and had some other health benefits. Can’t just for the life of ne to recall their definition of a “piece” I aim for about 15g a day since that’s the size of a piece from the brand I usually get.
Well according to science chocolate has a toxin that if consumed too much, will kill a person. The amount you would have to eat is around 700 chocolate bars. So I would say that more or less 700 chocolate bars is too much chocolate.
The amount of chocolate, as in cocoa, is probably high enough you don’t have to worry about. What you do have to worry about is the fat (cocoa butter) and sugar. As long as you’re eating those in amounts that fit into a healthy diet, you’re probably okay.
Be wary. Dark chocolate can contain high levels of caffeine. Gram for gram coaco has double the caffeine than coffee. However, it varies a lot from source to source. Because they undergo less processing eco friendly chocolates can have very high caffeine.

So it’s tricky. 100 chocolate has zero sugar but can have excessive caffeine. So it still should be eaten in moderation.
Depends on where you want your health to be and which type of chocolate you’re eating. Unsweetened and dark chocolates are generally healthier because they have less milk fat and less sugar. Milk chocolates and white chocolates are loaded with sugar. Just like a lot of foods, everything is good in moderation.
