How much weight loss is too quick?

I started the OMAD diet about 2.5 weeks ago, this friday will be the third week. I’m 37 5’11 started at 270-275ish. Was diagnosed with fatty liver. Stopped seroquel about 10 days ago after many years on it.

I’ve been eating only whole foods and maybe about 1300 calories a day (some days I feel I was under 1000) and generally this has begun making me feel full. However I’ve already lost about 13-15 pounds that I’m worried that that is way too quick and going to cause organ damage. Side note my fasting bloodsugar seems fairly high in the upper 5s, and last night it was 6.7 6 hours after eating.

Is this amount of weight loss about normal for someone my size when beginning? Or should I be introducing another meal and go to a 8/16. Any help would be appreciated.

Before Covid, I lost 70lbs with IF, going from 20-4 to OMAD. I started at 265 lbs. The first 2 weeks I lost something like 12 lbs. It was mainly water. It slowed down after. I am NOT an expert but I didn’t get any damage. After I droped 50 lbs it became harder to keep losing only on IF. I introduced workout (weight training) and it felt great.

I would make sure to drink PLENTY of water. And see how you feel.

I think high numbers the first couple weeks is likely due to water weight. It should level out to like 2-3 pounds a week. Weight loss may be higher at top weight too cause your BMR might be a little higher.
