I drank red wine but didn’t eat

Last night I had a few glasses of red wine but fought my urge to late night snack and haven’t *eaten during my fast - forgiveable or a big no no??

Answer

You didn’t fast. It’s in the past.

Wine has quite a few calories. Nobody does every fast as planned. The trick is getting back on the plan today. Ultimately, adding 1 day to the end of your journey won’t change much as long as you keep heading in the same direction.

Answer

> Intermittent Fasting(IF) is way of eating that restricts when you eat, usually on a daily or weekly schedule.

Quote taken from this sub’s sidebar.

If you’re doing IF you most certainly can have a glass of wine, or even several, during your eating window. Overdoing it will obviously not help.

Answer

You broke your fast. A couple glasses of red wine have the same amount of calories as a small meal.

It’s not what you eat or drink. It’s the calories.

Edit:As an example…

1 glass of red wine = 125 calories

Let’s say you had 3… thats 375 calories.

That’s more than a cheeseburger at McDonald’s (313 calories)

Answer

The fast is about callorie intake, not as much if you “ate or not”.

If you want to stay in a fasted state it’s generally recommend to stay below 50 calories for the duration.

A glass off red wine can easily exceeded 100 calories.

Answer

Caloric intake in intake whether it’s liquid or chunky. Alcohol kills your metabolism twice actually because your body has to break down the chemicals.

I recommend anatomy and physiology classes. It explains it all.

Answer

It’s different for everyone, but I know the minute I touch the sauce it takes a day or two to recover my groove (where I can feel my body operating at a high level). Not sure why but I bet some folks in the sub know! Or it could be mind over matter on my part.
