I keep quitting all the time

First: Sorry for my bad English. I have a problem. I need to lose weight due to high liver enzymes. I thought, IF would be a good, healthy way, because in the fasting time, my liver can regenerate.

But it’s always the same, I tried several times. I do the fasting (20:4 or 18:6) 5, 6 , 7 weeks. Everything is fine, i lose some weight, but then I begin to struggle, start binding. Quit fasting. Gain weight again, start fasting and so on and so on. In the end i lose the same 5 kg over and over again.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me. How do people stuck to their plan? I know I need to lose the weight, at least 10 kg (22 lbs). I am afraight, I might get severe liver problems. I’m 165 cm and 75 kg (165 lbs).

What’s the mindset, that keeps you going. Do you have any tips?

Give yourself a break and try 16:8, start fasting at 8pm and sleep through most of it and then you could eat at 12pm the next day simply skipping the traditional “breakfast” in the morning.

While fasting drink plenty of water and when your eating time begins, enjoy your meals and just eat sensibly or in moderation as people say.

To ease up the stresses of IF in the beginning, eat the foods that you like and just dont eat too much during the eating time so you’ll be sustaining youself with enough energy. 16:8 is effective too as its the most common from what Ive heard.

Stay hydrated and stay strong. You’ll get there.

Just take it one day at a time, and listen to your body. If you’re really feeling hungry, it’s okay to eat and start fasting again. Don’t be so hard on yourself and obsess over restrictions. Even just a 12 hour fast is great!
