If it makes you miserable I would not do it.

How long are you fasting for? I mean a 16-hour fast can be just skipping breakfast. I would find it very hard to pack all that misery in the few hours before lunch. More than a physical thing it sounds like an emotional nut that you need to crack.

I would look at what you’re eating during your window. If you’re eating good protein and high fiber. Lots of veggies. If you’re eating decently during your window then you may need to do a shorter fast until you get use to it and work back up

I notice that having a hobby helps me immensely when I’m in my fasting times (OMAD). I fish a lot, and I attend self defense/fitness classes a couple times a week. Doing hobbies in my down time gives me a reasonable distraction from feeling hungry. That said, like someone else mentioned, if you’re miserable then it’s not going to work and you won’t get the benefit of being able to stick to the diet.
