I was just fed up, how long should I go?

Hi,

I was just fed up with how my routine was going and wanted a “reboot” of some sort. It came down to a kind of spontaneous fasting, starting today. I haven’t eaten anything for today, just drank water, and am feeling good. I have done some spontaneous stuff like this before but only for a day or so, not including stuff I did in the military. The main reason for feeling fed up and wanting to do this was cravings of all sorts, mostly sugar and alcohol, me pulling on that damned handle on the fridge all the freaking time, and just getting fatter and fatter.

My question to you is, How long should I do to achieve a good stage for “restarting” my diet or commencing with trying to change my food-related habits?

Answer

If I understand what you’re getting at, a couple of weeks. In my opinion it doesn’t work to pick up a 48hr or 72hr fast randomly and not slowly work at your lifestyle. You’ll do the fast and go directly back to what you were doing.

I felt a similar way and picked up OMAD, it took about 2 weeks for the cravings to go away and to feel better overall.
