IF First Night Feeling Hungry While Trying To Sleep

My window was from 12-7pm. Today is day 4 of my journey to make it to my GW of 180, CW 222. But tonight I feel hunger, I won’t break my fast but definitely need tips on how to make tonight or any night this happens go better. Thanks ☺️

Embrace it. That’s the feeling of your body consuming itself. That is what you want to be feeling. It’ll go away. It’ll go away for hours and come back for a few minutes.Drink some water and do something to distract yourself.Once it goes away, try to sleep.

The first week is tricky like this. Expect next week to go a bit better. You got this!

(If this persists for several weeks and you are similar to me, then you can reduce the issue by moving eating window later. And also shifting most of the food to the end of that window. And also, looking for ways to replace some of the carbs with fat/protein, but try avoiding liquid plant oils.)

Electrolytes with plenty of water. Food rich in protein, good fat, complex carbs, and fibre to satiety. Finish your last meal 3 hours before going to bed. Go walking in the evening. Take a hot shower or bath. Drink hot tea or herbal infusion. Good luck!

This might be silly, but I read somewhere about the chemical called ghrelin that our body releases to signal hunger, which often gets released based on our previous eating schedule / habits and not when your body actually needs food. Whatever excerpt I was reading, the recommendation when you first start to feel hunger was to tell yourself “this is just the ghrelin, trying to trick me!”

I also use one of my therapist’s recommendations for anxiety, but apply it to hunger: picture your hunger as a wave and just ride it out. It will go away, your body is not actually starving.

I’m the type of person to think I will panic if I don’t eat when I feel hungry! But I’ve gotten used to it and it comes and goes- the feeling won’t last! You could def try having some water but you’ll make it through I promise
