Is 100 calories of white rice bad for health?

Hello everyone. I am currently fasting. Yesterday and today I have eaten about 100 calories of white rice to fight fatigue and weakness, it has really helped and made the day go by faster. (I.E. no lingering fatigue that makes the day drag by) I understand this is not technically still a fast as calories have been consumed, but my goal is weight loss (fat loss). Is this dangerous in anyway? 100 calories of white rice is still under 25 grams of carbs which i believe still counts as keto? Although this is fasting, not keto. Is it safe to continue doing this daily? My goal is a 14 day fast. Please give me your opinions, thank y’all!

Answer

100 calories of protein or fat wouldn’t be bad for you, but 100 calories of carbohydrates will absolutely lead to loss of lean body mass, and skeletal density.

If you need to have 100 calories to feel better that’s fine, but make sure it’s something like broth or maybe some easy to digest veggies.

Straight up rice will leave you looking like a prisoner of war.

Answer

Bad for my health. Drives up glucose, insulin & fatty acids, triglycerides in my blood. Also shuts down fatty acid oxidation. Not essential to human health, more so those like me with metabolic diseases. And again, Fatty acid synthesis from carbohydrates shuts down fatty acid oxidation aka fat burning.
