I’ve been experiencing insatiable hunger lately. Anyone else have this problem?

Hello all. I’ve been on 16/8 for a long time and have managed to lose about 45 lbs in the last 5 months. Lately, though, (in the past week) I’ve been experiencing insatiable hunger at night, mostly right toward the end or just outside my feeding window. Anyone have this problem? I’m wondering if maybe I’m not getting enough carbs or protein during the day? I don’t know. It’s been odd. I’ve dropped almost 50 lbs in 6 months, then I’ve hit this brick wall. Any tips for overcoming it?

My daily routine is usually a simple lunch of around 500-700 cal, a mid-afternoon snack of around 150-200 cal, then a 500-700 calorie dinner between 5-8pm. I also walk the neighborhood at night and try to get a mile or two in at least 5x per week. It is usually right before or just after these walks that the hunger starts.

Answer

Nice results so far!

IF is basically to trick the body to not feel there is any starvation, by keeping the meals full, while letting the fasting window facilitate the fat burning needed for weight loss.

‘Calorie restriction’ is managing meal size in order to facilitate weight loss, and it makes the body acutely aware that food supply is dwindling.

It seems to me you may be drifting towards the latter here.
