So far I just feel like garbage. Super hungry and nauseous all morning and then once I finally eat, I feel sick the rest of the day…
When I started IF I built up to it over time. I started with eating breakfast later in the day and eating a filling dinner so I didn’t have the urge to snack later at night. Over time I could skip breakfast and go until lunch. I was then able to push lunch later and later until one day I accidentally omaded.
Just my opinion, but going cold turkey on healthy life choices can be really hard and much easier to stick to if you ease into it.
Other than that, make sure you’re eating healthy and filling food when you do eat. If you’re full for longer and your body is getting what it needs it will make it easier to fast. It can also help to plan to be busy at times you used to eat to give you a distraction.
Maybe try shifting your window? If you wake up hungry, maybe plan to eat earlier and finish eating by mid/late afternoon. I know there’s various views on which time frame is best for eating/fasting, but do what works for you especially as you’re just getting started. Or you could start with 14:10 and slowly move to longer fasting periods? If you hate it, it will be hard to stick with, so don’t be afraid to make adjustments. As always, drink plenty for water/coffee/tea when you’re fasting and eat enough fats and proteins with your meals - you’ve got this, keep going!
In a month your symptoms should be more manageable and you’ll slowly get better. A key indicator that you should be fasting is because you are having detox symptoms. I’d just toughen up and ride it out if I were you.
