How long does it actually take for my body to enter ketosis. I hear so many different takes all the time. Some people say it’ll take a few days and some say it only takes around 24 hours. What’s true now
You hear different things because it’s different for everyone and it also is different depending on what you’ve been eating/doing

The basic idea, though, is the more carbs you eat (and glycogen buildup in your system), the longer it’ll take for your body to work through. Your body relies on this fuel source first so it only switches to ketosis when that’s mostly used up

Good rule of thumb if you’re eating decent (whole foods and not processed junk/simple sugars) is \~18 hour mark your body starts entering into ketosis. Also remember that exercise will also help you burn through this faster so not moving around much or sitting at a computer all day might also contribute to taking longer to enter ketosis by a little bit
In 2015 I was told that I should fast for three days in order to get into ketosis. It seems like it always worked for me, though these days I’ve become interested in just how deep that ketosis is. Anyway, I would say 3 days to be on the safe side.
if you weigh about 80 kg, your body can store perhaps 500 g of glycogen, which equates to 2000 cal. It would take you less than a day to hit ketosis, assuming you don’t have 3 sleeves of Oreos in your stomach when you start.
It depends on a lot of factors. Metabolic flexibility, how many carbs were consumed prior, exercise, body composition.
It’s my understanding that metabolic flexibility (the ability to respond or adapt to conditional changes in metabolic demand) can be increased. So the more you get into ketosis, the easier/faster it happens.
If you exercise after eating you will use up the glycogen stores faster.
Theres other things involved as well, like if you are on insulin, or you can use supplements like Metformin to get you to a fasted state faster.
