Looking for Weight Loss Sustainability

I have 30-40lbs to loose and Minding my Insulin (type 2 in my family)

I wake up at 5am and go to sleep around 9pm every day. I love breakfast and don’t function well without it so I usually begin my fast in the afternoon. I have noticed 8 times out of 10, I am fine with going to bed 6-8hrs into my fast but sometimes, doing so disrupts my sleep.

I also exercise by bike riding to and from work, -cardio

I am wondering, from a weight loss and improving insulin perspective, not a Benefits of Fasting perspective, if eating breakfast around 6am then eating dinner between 3-5pm on some days or maybe even most days is sufficient in my goals. -I am in a calorie deficit.

I can not help you with the insulin angle because I simply don’t know. However, I can add my two cents regarding the weight loss. You are eating two meals a day, first at 6 am and the second between 3 and 5 pm. This means you are doing 15:9 or 13:11, where 15 and 13 are fasting hours, and 9 and 11 are eating hours. From the point of autophagy, the fasting hours would be too short. For the weight loss, however, they are fine (if you are doing a caloric deficit).I didn’t see anybody mentioning that before but between meals, if you are not snacking, you are actually fasting too.
