Lost 20-30ish pounds with IF in about 4 months but I still look the same?

Hi everyone, I started IF around September last year and started at 205. I’m 24M, 5’7-8ish and nowadays I’m around 175-179ish. I measure my weight in the morning after I wake up and right before I sleep since I know weight fluctuates throughout the day. I’ve been doing a 16:8 fast and walking 3-4 times a week. While I have seen a steady decline each week as I measure my progress, I also don’t feel like I look any different? I haven’t taken any pictures but I expected almost 30 pounds lost to be a bit more drastic on my appearance, but I still think I look almost the same. Has anyone else experienced the same? Also, has this been a healthy loss so far? I think I’m losing a bit more weight that I should be by this time point.

Answer

There is no way you do not look different. But, it may be that you are particularly conscious of some body parts (eg, face) that is slow to respond to weight loss. As you approach your goal weight (165?) you will see changes everywhere. It may also be that you have some body dysmorphia and don’t see what others do. My advice is to stick with it & maybe up your fitness. That should give you other victories to celebrate, like greater strength, more stamina, faster running
