New to IF; is my goal reasonable?

Hi all, I’m trying to use IF to lose some fat. I put a lot on over the past two years, and I’m looking to get back to where I was before. I’m currently doing omad on workdays and 20:4 on weekends and having no problem sticking to that.

I’m trying to lose around 1 kg per week on average. I know it will fluctuate significantly week to week so it’s only the overall trend I’m interested in. Does that sound sensible? I’m just about on target so far but I know it might get harder later on. Here is progress so far.

28 year old man; 198cm; started 131.7 kg; now 122.5 kg after 10 weeks.

End goal 85 kg, which would be back in the middle of the healthy bmi range. Ideally by the end of the year.

Also, do you see any problem with doing omad and 20:4 on different days of the week, or would it be best to stick to one or the other?

Answer

Totally fine to do omad and 20:4. I think you will eventually get to your goal but the time line is hard to guess. I would just keep it simple and see how it goes. If it takes more time or less time isn’t as important as it will happen if you stick with it.
