Opening my fast with a Fruit blend, is it alright?

Hi guys, been doing IF (16:8) for about 3 weeks, shed off some weight but still have lots more to go.

The issue is I really love eating ice cream and at the bare minimum need it about once every 2 days. A substitute that I found out is by consuming low calorie ice cream (ex. Halo Top 380 Calories per pint ice cream) or an option that I adopted is by having fruit blends (not juiced), such as having some (frozen strawberries + frozen watermelon + low fat Greek yoghurt).

I am wondering if by consuming fruit blends daily or once every 2 day would affect my weight loss journey? If you have any advice or personal experience, I would be grateful!

There is no reason you should have to give up ice cream. One scoop every other day isn’t going to affect your weight loss at all.

Hell, I love ice cream too and back when I first started IF I was eating a scoop nearly every day.

As long as you stay under your TDEE, you’ll be fine

I do find greek yogurt (I use plain, but could use anything), mixed with frozen berries is great. I make it with my lunch, stir it up and by the time I’m done lunch, the berries have thawed a bit and the yogurt around them is frozen and its like a tart (would change if you used a sweeter yogurt) ice cream. Its a good protein/low cal option, but feels desserty

Find sugar free cones, buy 1 pint of keto enlightened ice cream and make a double scoop for yourself and one other person…

Split the total calories in half, even if it’s like only 2g carbs per serving or per pint

But the best method is really buying all types of fruit, I found also sweet potatoes basically taste like candy.. so I’m pretty happy giving up ice cream. I used to go through a pint a day this past winter
