Question about hunger in fasting.

I have been having periods of increased hunger (in general) and I’ve heard from quite a few people about switching, to say, keto diet and experiencing increased hunger.

If one wants to introduce fasting to increase the wellbeing, how does the role of fasting play out in hunger?

Some people can fast for a few hours, let’s say, and feel okay while others will feel increasingly hungry and then will start to crave certain foods badly.

In that line of reasoning, when is it okay to fast and when not? Are there recommendations to, let’s say, be on a certain diet first for some time before attempting day or even longer fasts?

Answer

I’ve fasted 13+ days at a time and I’ve never gotten to the point of not being hungry, so I’m following this post. 💜💜💜

I know I’ve been in ketosis before many times, but the hunger never disappears or gets easier. I stalk people who say theirs does online hoping and praying mine does during my fasting days. Lol.

Also, an important question for me is- what about the metabolic rate? Doesn’t fasting decrease the metabolism? Or under certain circumstances, it’s possible to fast for the longer periods of time yet have relatively unchanged metabolism?
