Question on added sugars

I have noticed that all labels have a daily value % for added sugars. Does this mean as long as you don’t go over the daily value limit for added sugars you are ok? Or should DV% for added sugars be 0% ideally? It seems like the recommended %DV for HFCS is 0% so why not for added sugars?

Answer

The idea is to not discourage the eating of a wide variety of foods; many healthy foods have sugar in them, and it is nice to know if, say, a fruit is sweet because nature made it delicious, or if man did so.

In principle I ignore it completely. It is all sugar. The change is due to politics.
