scared I'll gain all the weight back

I’m half way through my 2 weeks fast and I’m scared I’ll gain the weight back. I’ve done a week fast before and all the weight came back in 3 days. I’m worried that this will be all for nothing. Any tips? How long should I refeed?

Answer

You’ll gain water weight and some other things back, but those weren’t realistic to permanently lose.

The real weight loss occurred and won’t come back unless you do the wrong things to make it come back.

I recently went from 245, to 218. I’m not currently fasting (keto and maintenance calories) and I’m back around 228. Would I rather see 218 on the scale? I guess. But I also confidently know I lost 15-17 lbs of real weight in a period of weeks.

Think of the water loss like a security deposit or something. It’s not real loss and it never was, and you get it back afterward. You’re still going to be less than before, again, assuming you don’t just throw the entire fridge in your mouth

Answer

Make sure you are avoiding sugar when you break your fast. Help keep your body in Ketosis by not filling your body up with sugar and carbs. For me fasting with a Keto diet has been successful. Good Luck!
