Sharing my story

I had been keto and 16-8 for three weeks, lost about 10 lbs total during that time. My doctor had recommended I try the 5-2 diet. I know 5-2 means a lot of different things to people, but what he meant was, eat normal 5 days a week, fast 2 days. On your fast days he said roughly 300 calories was ok. So I’ve done that this week, but to kick it up a notch, on my 5 eating days, I’ve also done OMAD and keto, my two “fasting” days I had some cucumbers, celery, and a little cheese which I know most of you wouldn’t consider fasting. But so far, I’m an additional 10 lbs down just this week! I feel like I can really do this, the OMAD is tough but it’s getting easier and id like to get to the point where I can actually fast on my 2 days, no snack at all. I feel like I can get there. I am easing into it, and things are going great so far. I also purchased ultima electrolytes because I had been getting slight headaches so hopefully this helps.

I’ve done a very similar thing and got good results too. I also found myself getting light headed and dizzy but some electrolytes fixed that up. The only problem I found was because my hunger decreased I wasn’t eating enough in my window which in turn caused me problems later.
I often say this and I’ll stand on my hill until I die. I relate everything to our evolution, we never evolved eating 3 meals a day we never evolved eating carbs. We didn’t count calories or macros, we woke we searched for food and sometimes we found it sometimes we didn’t. Occasionally we’d come across some nuts or veg something to nibble on. Its a very natural way of eating.
