I was listening to some of Coles older videos where he was coaching maya and he was saying something like staying in ketosis for too long is not natural and he would intentionally break maya out of ketosis every week. If I’m doing rolling 72s should I just have a carb meal once every 3 refeeds (9 days) or should I just eat low carb the whole way through?
His last video he says he’s been in ketosis over 50 days. He’s advocating permanent ketosis now. Decades ago I did cyclical keto where you fuel up on clean carbs once a week and had pretty good results in the gym and the motocross track. I personally don’t eat any carbs when I’m cutting, just meat, eggs, cheese, organic Mayo and butter to keep all my macros close. My carbs are close to 0 and my keto sticks remain the darkest color consistently.
People have told me for years “you cannot eat like that, you need carbs, you need veggies”

Eskimos have been living off nothing but seal meat, blubber and fish for eons and they have a longer lifespan than modern Americans do I’m sure.
Id personally say keep doing low carb and perhaps eat extra once in a long while…which could kick you out of ketosis but the dopaminergic addictive type effect from carbs won’t occur and cause extended “relapse”…the minimal cravings from low carb and keto is super beneficial to maintain
