Should you meet your calorie target even when not hungry?

So I’m currently doing rolling 48 hour fasts, but some days I have to split my food into a 4 hour window instead of one meal (depending on daily circumstances)

Sometimes I find the first meal takes away my hunger and I feel no need for the second meal. I consume about 1800 calories on eating days (One meal is half that)

Should I eat the second meal even when not hungry? I’m worried that low calories over a long period of time will cause metabolism decrease, if I’m eating say 900 calories every 48 hours

Answer

personally i think you should listen to your body. if you’re not hungry, you’re not hungry. there may be days where you’re inexplicably hungry.

in terms of metabolism i honestly don’t know but i kind of always go with the idea of eating intuitively rather than abiding by a rule and it’s worked for me
