Vitamin D recommendation

Hi Can anyone recommend a good vitamin d tablet/spray? I’ve been taking one with K2 but I hear so many mixed reports about what’s the best out there, was also told sprays/oils are way better for absorption. Thanks

Not that much of a difference as to cause worry, except if there are preexisting challenges with absorption

The main thing I would ensure is the supplement of any form is third party verified, so that it’s contents actually match what’s in the label. Simply stating “ third party verified” is bogus, but a logo from the organization like NSF or USP

You should ask your doctor to test your levels regularly or else you’ll never really know. Different people need different amounts to maintain a good level. It takes awhile for your body to adjust and build it up or have it go down - so start a supplement and then get a test in 3 months. Or get a test now and then start it and see how it affects you keeping in mind levels will change by time of year and how much sun you get.

Read reviews and try taking it then get labs after 2-3 months to see your level (assuming you already got a baseline), then adjust from there.

You might also want to take some Mg since it works with the D vitamin. :)

Here are some thoughts to take on your health journey.

Avoid Supplements with soybean oil or corn oil bc those oils tend to be inflammatory. Although it’s in small doses, we take the supplements everyday for the long-term. Also avoid vitamins that contain malodextrin is high in the glucemix index, it’s one of the worst hidden sugars.

Vitamin D is a fat soluble molecule so it’s suggested to take it after eating a meal that has some kind of fat (i.e Olive oil, avocados, etc) to help maximize absorption.

To receive the maximum benefits from Vitamin D ( supplement or sun exposure) it’s best to avoid high fructose corn syrup(HFCS). HFCS prevents the body from synthesizing vitamin D in our body’s.

There’s a brand called sports research that makes a D+K2. It has worked well for me and I’ve confirmed it with blood tests.

But really the thing you need to do is get some blood work done to determine your deficiency. You may need prescription strength supplements to get your numbers up
