I’ve only done 7. From doing the 7 I know I could have gone longer but it just gets so BORING. I fast for autophagy and stem cell production which ramps up and settles down by the end of the week. My most common extended fast is from Sunday night to Thurs night.
Right around 450 hours. Results were amazing. I dropped just shy of 40 lbs. Don’t remember the gain on refeed.

Not sure if I would do one that long again. At the current moment I’d say no. Wouldn’t really recommend something that long either.
Currently day 14, going for 40. Previous best was right before Covid at 4 days. The more you push the easier it gets. Day 7-9 is where you start to relax and everything gets much easier. Currently 21# down at 14 days in.
I’ve done a few 5 day fasts. I don’t know about visible results. I don’t have a lot of excess fat. I have noticed some change in the stubborn areas.
I like the extra time I don’t have to spend cooking and cleaning. I feel days flow better when I don’t have to stop what I’m doing to eat. I don’t like how fasting impacts my workout routine and I battle more with things like my daily cold shower.
I’m fasting to see if I can knock out some autoimmune issues. I’ve tried diets, medication etc. People have reported success with fasting so I feel I have nothing to lose.
I’m 50 so also trying to do what I can to support my health as I age.
I do IF most days when I’m not doing extended fasting. It seems to help with my sleep and I love the freedom of not having to worry about breakfast.
My longest was 42 days. I had intended on doing 40 for religious reasons, and got it in my head that that was 6 weeks… So I wound up accidentally doing 2 additional days.
It gets easier until it doesn’t. The last three days were hard even though I still had excess body fat. It was like flipping a switch, I went from not hungry to hungry.
120 hours for me. Only because of social pressure. Had a Bday dinner I couldn’t skip and didn’t want to be a weirdo so I broke my fast. The dinner was at a nice place with amazing food so they didn’t have to twist my arm so hard. I feel like if was a moocher I could probably survive on event dinners, lunch dates for the rest of 2023 without spending an money. But who wants to leech off their friends and family, doesn’t seem like a nice move.
And yes, I totally recommend it. Makes your mind strong and allows you to overcome the grip food has on your life. It’s like a minor superpower.
20 days was my longest and i did lose 18lbs , it was hard but the paid off is worth it. you need to stay busy though because you will want to eat out of boredom not really hungry. looking back now i prefer omad and adf, since it’s more sustainable for me..
I am on day 19 of current fast, not sure how long I’ll go but maybe 30-40 days. I have absolutely no physical hunger and very little emotional or psychological hunger which I’ve learned to easily dismiss. I’m at the point where I do not want to eat. repeat: I don’t want to eat.
Fasting becomes a non-issue. I don’t think about food, my kitchen is always clean, I don’t open the refrigerator for days at a time. I don’t have to shop, prepare or do the dishes. It is bizarre to think I haven’t eaten in over 2 weeks and I probably won’t eat for another 2 weeks. It is also incredibly empowering.
Having NEVER fasted 24 hours in my life I started fasting (quite accidently) only 8 months ago and really enjoy it - yes, enjoy it… I do a lot of 2-5 days fast. I’ve done two 7 day fasts and kinda wanted to go longer but didn’t until now.
(Oh and I’ve lost 90 lbs in 10 months) You can do it.
