Longest was 4 and half days for me but I can’t go longer than a day now. I need motivation!
Just finished a 14 day dry fast, broke on the 15th day, earlier this month.
This followed an 11 day dry fast last September.
The 11 day dry fast followed upon a succession of shorter dry fasts over previous years, e.g. multiple 5 day dry fasts over various periods.
I would not dive into doing a dry fast of greater than 5 days without having had numerous dry fasting experiences of 5 days or less done correctly, i.e. with complete convalescent rest and attentive awareness to deeply understanding your own body.
Dry fasting is a powerful intervention and should not be taken lightly.
Dry fasting is not a competition or performance sport, unless you prefer to play that way – in which case you’ll get what you get.
Don’t rush – there are many myriad delights and insights to be experienced in shorter dry fasts done correctly and broken with discipline. These are all lost when bum rushing yourself to some arbitrary number of days fasted. Honestly, who gives a shit… nobody in a well done dry fast.
Be good to yourself.
Technically 4days, but it was a 14 day alternating fast. 4 water >4 hard dry>2 water> 4 hard dry…. So 8 out of 14 even 8 out of the last 10 days.. It was incredibly easy, because I was one month keto first. Very spiritual! I felt totally fine and energetic on day 14, but my family was urging me to wrap it up.. I think a 7 day dry would be easy though. Cheers!
3 days , record a voice for yourself that you tell yourself why you started the day and how much you gonna go , Ave listen to it thousand time during the fast , I’m now doing the same and past the day one and going for 4 days
4 days, and plan to build up to 4.5-5 days in the summer! I’m water fasting meanwhile–just finished a 7 day water fast (with 2 dry days to start it) and am going to do a 10 day water fast in April (will likely start it with 2-3 days dry as well, as it is easier for me).
I love fasting, and I don’t want to force my body and mind into it. So if a fast doesn’t flow well, it is okay to quit and restart (for me.) It usually takes me at least a week to “get into” a 7 day fast. I’d fast for 24h and consider it “good enough”, then another 20h, then again 24. And after a week or 10 days of this, my body and mind are finally ready.
So I think that’s okay if you can’t go for more than a day now…Keep doing a day; then a day again, and then you will know when you are ready for more. Btw, there IS cummulative effect and if you do 1 day fasts it all adds up, in terms of health benefits and weight loss.
Good luck!
