when will I feel normal?

Hello everyone, I’m 7 days into my IF journey. 16/8. I’ve been extremely fatigued and experiencing constant headaches. My meals consist mainly of veggies, protein and very little carbs. I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong or it’s simply withdrawals from the garbage I was putting into my body, last week. How long before you started to feel the benefits or have energy? Thanks for your support

while fasting be sure to stay hydrated, drink plenty of water. Headaches can come on if youre not drinking enough water, also brain fog gets fought off when you stay hydrated during fasting hours.

While in your eating window along with eating quality foods, be sure to consume enough to sustain your body.

On day two I was ready to change my fasting from 16:8 to 18:6 and I feel better when Im fasting 18 hours.

The last six hours of my fasting is during working hours and Im drinking plenty of water, at times pissing like a racehorse but definitely feeling strong. Hope you find your way.

It’s your insulin levels. You’ve gone from requiring large, frequent doses of insulin from your pancreas to eating less frequently and lower carbs all at once. Your pancreas hasn’t adjusted yet.

Insulin is antilipolytic. It stores excess glucose as fat then hangs out and prevents the fat from coming back out to be used as energy. You’re burning through the glucose from your most recent meal before your insulin levels go down enough to allow access to fat as an energy source.

You can ride it out or shorten your fasts for awhile. How many hours into your fast do you start feeling sick?
