Whey powders more harm than good?

I’ve just started combining IF with KETO and watchinng videos and reading posts, I’ve just came across the claim that lean proteins (such as whey powders) trigger an insuline response and do more damage than good rather than helping, and that is better to get all your proteins from fatty proteins. Is this also true with zero carb or low carb whey proteins? Can anybody expand on this? Isolate proteins are so convenient for me to achieve a high protein intake and I’d hate to quit it…

Answer

Yes, they are very good at triggering insulin (which makes you fat) but they are also pretty good at increasing satiety (which should stop you eating so much and stops you getting fat) So, score draw overall. As always, it’s complicated!

The other thing to consider is that along with the whey, they normally have quite a chemical slurry, which may or may not be important to you.

Answer

Insulin? Yep. Damage? Nah

Anything you eat at any time raises Insulin, lean or fatty.

The thinking is fatty protein would have less of a spike, but its still a spike anyway.

Yes whey will raise insulin, but any eating was going to do that anyway, so keep it if you enjoy it and its working for you.

Would fatty meat proteins be better? Of course, natural is always better

Will whey isolate annihilate everything you’re doing or hurt you in some way? Nah, far from it.
