20 Hour fast

I just completed by first 20 hour fast. Normally I do 14-16 a few days a week. I decided on a 20 to reset after Thanksgiving here in America. I handle it well, my biggest mistake was not eating a big enough meal to break my fast. So I felt weak a few hours later. Any suggestions on type of meal you break a 20-23 hour fast with? No dietary restriction.

No need to think that hard, that’s a shorter fast than OMAD. Eat whatever you feel like. Now once you get past 72 hours, we’ll talk. Honestly anything shorter than 5 days your body is pretty easily equipped to handle unless you have other pre-existing conditions or dangerously low body weight.

For most people, breaking a short fast, can be done eating what you “normally” eat. I doubt there should be much difference between 14 to 24 hour fasting, regarding how you break it.

I do mostly omad, and the way i break my fast, is that when i start to cook my one meal, i eat a few veggies to wake up my digestion system, and when my dinner is ready usually 15-25min later, i can really feel the hunger.I usually eat “the normal” keto stuff, meat/fish, veggies, nuts, cheese etc etc.

When i do longer fasts 5 days++, i break my fast with bone broth a few veggies, and then when my system starts to scream for food, i eat some kind of keto dish.

As a side note, when i started out on fasting, i would get tired after eating my one meal, it did pass after some weeks, however i do sometimes get tired after eating when i do EF.
