5 day fast

I really want to be able to make it through a 5 day water fast. I’ve done 3 days multiple times but by the third day I’m throwing up and close to passing out and end up eating a piece of fruit or something just so I can get through the day. I’m a full time student+part time job that requires moving a ton of heavy surfboards, and missing days of work/school isn’t an option. How do you guys make it through water fasts while still functioning? I tried gatorade zero and pedialyte and it does help a little bit but not as much as I need to get through my days. I also have to commute an hour and back through Bay Area traffic everyday and get worried about passing out while driving. Please give me tips, I’m starting my fast tonight and want to go until at least Wednesday night! (I’m also a completely healthy weight and don’t have any health problems that would prevent me from fasting. BMI 19.5)

Answer

I supplement my electrolytes with a homemade supplement drink and magnesium tablets. But, fasting isn’t for every situation. If I were commuting an hour to a physically demanding job then I’m not sure anything would make fasting doable for me during work days.
