My apologies if its disgusting to speak about this, as such I will do my best to be as clean with my words as possible.
A long story short, I woke up this morning and instantly went to the restroom, I had bowel movement and was surprised as it’s 7 days into a water only fast. When trying to do my business, I had an incredible amount of pain and was as you’d expect, really constipated.
Stuff did of course come out, but I don’t understand how this even happened and was hoping someone could perhaps explain the possibilities.
I have been taking the following vitamins/minerals during this water fast: Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin B-Complex, Iron, Vitamin D 50,000 Iu once a week, took one yesterday.
Could one of these pills that I’ve been taking be the cause? I can leave any of them except the Vitamin D as I was tested critically low on that.
Thank you very much in advance everyone
Fasted a few times and I think a lot of this comes from not keeping electrolytes balanced in the beginning. If I get out of balance, I tend to urinate a lot for a day. Unfortunately when your body purges fluids like this is will also draw on your GI tract. Imagine wringing out a sponge. That’s what happens to the fecal matter in your bowels, leaving it dense and compacted. Makes it extremely hard to pass.

Cut all of this out and just take a simple electrolyte supplement that includes Sodium, Potassium and Magnesium while fasting… none of the other stuff is necessary and may be harmful (especially the Iron).
I use LyteShow at about half the recommended dosage per serving.… and don’t take anything else for a 14 day water fast.
I am fasting for severe chronic gut problems induced by Probiotics.
6’4” and 150lbs’ish is my normal weight (borderline underweight). Completed a 14 day water fast 3 weeks ago, got down to around 135lbs, and took no other supplements or nutrition other than the electrolytes during those 2 weeks. I continued to have small bowel movements until day 11ish with minimal pain.
Overall it helped my gut issues so significantly I decided to do another 2 week water fast 3 weeks later. Currently on day 5 and am hoping this one may lead to even more significant healing.
