Anyone here complete a 12 day dry-fast?

Hello all,

Today marks the first day of my 12-day dry-fasting journey.

My previous experience:

  1. Many 7-day water fasts.
  2. Done at least three 5-day dry fasts. Felt great and always felt like I could keep going.

I wrote down many reasons to pursue such an extended dry-fast. But the main one here is to fully “reset” and prime my physical and mental health for the year 2022.

Main form of exercise during the 12-day dry fast:

  1. Short walking at the same time every morning.
  2. Pushups

If there is anyone in this wonderful community who have truly completed 12 days of dry fasting, I welcome your insights and words of wisdom.

If there is anyone that would like to argue this is absolutely nuts and 12-days is perhaps a stupid endeavor, I welcome your criticism and opinion. Please just make sure your opinion is logical, well thought out, and based on literature. If not, that’s also okay but try to be respectful please.

Good luck! One of the essentials is breathing - making sure to breathe out of the nose as much as possible. Especially at night so that you don’t lose hydration. There will be times that it gets mentally challenging but that’s when sitting with your emotions becomes so crucial. I don’t know what your social situation is like, but it may be handy to avoid others as you become so sensitive to energy.

Your plan sounds very well thought out, and of course listen to your body if it does say to break before 12 days. A jump from 5 to 12 days is big, but not impossible.
