Anyone tips for dealing with body dysmorphia?

Hi y’all! So I’m 21M 6’3” SW:330 CW:255 GW:180 and I’ve been doing keto/IF since August 1st 2022. I’m down 75 pounds and I’ve gone from 42” waist to 38” (or 2XL pants to Mediums) and 3XL shirt to Large shirt.

Everyone around me keeps saying I look amazing (you can look at my profile for before and after pics) and I feel amazing in terms of my energy and my day to day life but I don’t feel it in my clothes and in the mirror.

I know there’s a difference and I see it but I can’t tell if people are just overreacting and trying to hype me up or if I’m dealing with body dysmorphia. Also I’ve had low self esteem my whole life so I feel like that’s got something to do with it lol.

Any advice for how I can overcome this or at least read into these kinds of things a little better? Thanks!

Answer

My general trick for unwanted thoughts, is noting down the time of day, each time the that thought pops up.

Extremely effective, because it will eventually document a trend of increasingly longer time spans, which provides positive feedback to the loop.
