IF can indeed be a type of “disordered eating” in those who have had issues with body image/Ed’s. For normies - it’s no issue and it is a healthy pursuit.
Unfortunately, any time I try to approach IF it brings back old triggers and I treat it more like a “control” - basically a way to control my eating in a way that regular folks who have no issues with body dysmorphia/ or disordered eating do. Or thought I was fully recovered etc from all that but personally for me, it doesn’t help. I am still in this sub just because I joined when I thought I was hunky dory and tried it and I really wasn’t.
After that word vomit, if you feel this way and it’s “new” you’re feeling that way for a reason. You probably have discovered something about yourself if you’re feeling uncomfortable about it. Can you seek some therapy perhaps to pinpoint what’s going on? It can be super helpful.
Try taking a picture front and back, every week. Once a month look at them so you can see the gains you’re making. It’s hard to recognize small changes until they’re big changes, and we are our own worst critics.
