Anyone got any tips for transitioning from OMAD back into a 18:6?

I’ve been doing OMAD for about a year now and what I’ve learned is my hunger just doesn’t go away during the day. I’ve tried salt, smashing tons of water, etc but all I think about is food around 12PM until I eventually eat my meal. I have to eat my meal late or else I’ll keep eating.

This week I’ve switched over to maintenance calories as a trial run of allowing myself to eat a low calorie lunch (200-500 calories) while eating my regular 1200-1500 calorie dinner.

I ultimately still want to lose weight. My big concern here is when I switch back to 1500 calories a day that because my last meal is going to be smaller than what I’m used to I’m going to be left unsatisfied.

For reference even doing 1500 calories a day in one meal I rarely feel “full”. Rather I get to the point where I’m not hungry but rarely am I actually full.

Any tips from anyone who’s transitioned back or just in genera would be appreciated. Will my stomach eventually adapt? Should I just brute force it and deal with being hungry for a week or so?

Answer

You might want to switch to 2 or 3 one day fasts a week and at maintenance or slightly above on food days. Seriously math works

2500 maintenance and 500 over 5 days a week is 2 fast days with 2500 net calories in the hole. 3 fast days is 5500 negative for the week. Most of the time you just won’t be hungry. And your body will adjust, mine did.
