Can I do dry fasting for a day after 2 days of a water fast?

Would this be a good idea? I saw some of you doing dry then switch to a water fast, so I’m wondering will it be fine to so vice versa?

Answer

Dry fast is usually harder so doing it first while your body still has reserves makes more sense. Then adding water allows you to go further.

I dont know that there is science out there that prefers doing a specific order over the other but if you are used to fasting I dont see why you cant do it.

I’m currently on my 4th 7 day fast - I usually water fast but decided to try dry fasting this time. I started with dry fasting which kicked me into ketosis very quickly. Inadvertently had some sips of water after a workout so broke my dry fast around 18 hours then hopped back into another 24 hour dry fast. Now I plan to do kinda a Ramadan variation so dry fast from sun up to sun down and drink water outside of that. May throw another 24 hr dry fast in too. So far I feel good and am finding dry fasting parts easier than water fasting. Good luck!

Answer

Yes it should be fine. I’ve done a lot, and you can listen to the dry fast club too. The water advice is based on people doing extended water fasting into dry. A day or two to prepare the body should be totally fine.

Answer

The experts say do it the other way around, if you even feel you must. I’d just start training myself to dryfast a bit at a time. It’s so much more easy and effective than water fasting AKA water dieting 😜😅

Answer

Filonov suggests dry fast before a water fast. Dry fast starts the healing process, fat adaption etc all earlier than a water fast. It would make more sense to accrue those benefits at the outset and then follow it with a water fast to maximise progress.
