fasting forces your body to burn fat, of which you have very little. if there’s no fat to burn, your body will break down muscle. fasting in your scenario would, in my unscientific opinion, only result in muscle loss and be quite dangerous

Yeah,., I’ll say your biggest issue would be loss of muscle. But I’m speculating a bit to be honest. With not much fat to go on, your liver is going to glycogenesis some muscle if fat is not abundant.

I’ve been doing IF regularly and some prologued fasts here and there since 2018 and, to be honest, they were “easier” when I had more fat in me. At one point (right before discovering this) I was about 25 to 30% body fat. No joke. And I dropped to 10 - 12.5% on fasts alone in that period (every time I find someone that only knew me before that, it’s always the same: “Oh my gosh, are you sick? You’re so skinny” and stuff). Leaner fasts to me are harder. The hunger seems to be more pronounced.

During that period, I went up a few pounds for a while (stupid pandemic…) and I did a 14-day fast as soon as I could to get rid of all that lockdown fat. The first 6 or 7 days were a breeze. By then my body was used to it and all that fat was just what sustained me for a week. I think I only got really hungry like on day 9 or something, but then it’s a matter of will power.

I started fasting to drop a lot of extra weight, I gotta be honest. But once I get to my weight and fat % goal, I just do IF to keep it up. Maybe a 5 or 7 day fast once or twice a year to let the autophagy clean-up past abuses but that’s it.

Probably better off with a strict keto diet and omad. What sort of calories are you burning each day with workouts?

You’re already really lean but you could probably get away with 3 day fasts and then a 2 day refeed,Just be careful working out while fasted.
