Day 15 of 21 Day Fast and no ketones in urine?

Basically what the title says. I have those little ketone strips to test whether you’re in ketosis or not and for the entirety of my fast it has shown that my urine is negative for ketones. Shouldn’t I be in deep ketosis at this point? What does this mean? Is this something I should be worried about?

I’m also slightly concerned as my weight loss has plateaued and for the last 4 days my weight has remained unchanged.

This is my longest fast I’ve ever done, prior to this 6 days was the longest I could go so I just want to be sure that these issues aren’t concerning.

Use a blood meter if you want accurate results. The strips are not accurate. Then as you adapt to ketosis, your body learns to produce the right amount. Thus you flush far less through urine. Just think, if you could pee fat forever then we would all be really thin :)

If you are water fasting and not introducing any carbohydrate into your system then the strips are expired or not functioning as they should?

15 days in,,,you don’t have anything but ketones and self generated glucose left.

I’d try some new strips personally.

Hey fasting twin, on day 15 of 21 also, and my weight plateaued around 182 for most of last half of last week. But today it started going down again. We’re burning fat, don’t worry about the number on the scale too much. Happy fasting!

I was under the impression that the urine strips test for excess ketones or ketones being expelled from the body/not utilized. Is it possible that since you aren’t eating anything your body it utilizing most if not all of the ketones? I’m not sure if this is the actual cause, just a thought.
