Day 5 of fasting and not feeling thirsty at all + water tastes kinda salty

Hey I just got to day 5 of my fast and I cant get any water in me. I dont feel thirsty at all (previous days I drank about 1,5 litres every day). Also when I try to force myself drink water it tastes kinda salty even tho I didnt add any salts into it.

What could this mean? Anyone experienced it? Should I be worried?

Edit : also my urine is pretty dark so I guess I am dehydrated? Why I dont feel thirsty then and water feels disgusting.

You are really dehydrated and u should have any drink like alkaline water may taste different for you or just drink water even it doesn’t taste that good but that could u renal issues n stone formation or renal colics so if u r not ok stop fasting have a drink like juice to have electrolytes

Answer

Break your fast! You’re indeed dehydrated, this is one of the many reasons I never do a fast longer than 4 days, drinking water and electrolytes gets trickier… if you drink too much water with little salt? Diarrhea, but if you drink water with too much salt? Diarrhea, but if you drink sip by sip, you don’t get enough water and electrolytes…

Break the fast and start over, maybe consider rolling shorter fasts. I personally feel a general “must do longer fast” vibe from the sub, which is OK for those who can, but personally I just don’t find anything beyond 4 days sustainable.

Read “Life in the Fasting Lane” and listen to “The Fasting Method Podcast,” they made me realize that I shouldn’t feel bad or like a failure for not wanting, liking or plain not able to do longer fasts.
