Does anyone find fasting stops you pooing?

I know you guys are going to tell me fiber. I’ve been living out my freezer (big fibrous shop on the way today) but doea anyone else find that when you don’t eat your body seems to hold onto poo?

Answer

Yes, it was scary at first because im pretty regular but usually after I break my fast im able to use the rest room.

The only time I struggled after breaking my fast was when I wasnt properly hydrating and eating too much for my first meal.

Answer

Absolutely. It generally takes 12-18 hours for nutrient- dense food to work its way through your digestive tract. When you fast, your body isn’t stupid - it can sense there’s no more intake. It’ll hold onto anything it can to wring out any last bits of nutrition it can. One of the first things that happens to me after a 5-day fast is a big ol’ BM. Bigger if I eat carbs. Mostly water if carnivore.

Answer

How can it hold onto something that is not being produced?

Bowel movements are based on said bowel getting enough of a working load. You stop building it, it will stop flowing it until it gets enough.

If anything it may dry things more. Are you dealing with constipation or just no bowel movement?
