You may be getting some of your information confused.

Caffeine, specifically from green tea would lower your blood glucose/sugar level. So long as your are drinking the caffeinated green tea without sugars or milk, it would be beneficial. Here are two recent studies:2015 mouse study2018 human meta study

Most of the effects wouldn’t appear to be seen with such a low amount as one tea bag, so regardless you’re probably fine.

But in response to your question related to amount of volume, you are correct that one tea bag means one cup typically. You may get a bit more diffusion out of the tea with a higher volume but it would be negligible so for your interest, one tea bag would mean one cup of tea (regardless of how much water you actually use).

There is a recent study on caffeine drinks (which contain sugar) and increase in blood glucose levels so I’m wondering if you’re mistaking the information from that study with that of green tea. 2018 study on energy drinks on blood pressure, heart rate and blood glucose

Answer

It’s probably still the equivalent of just one tea bag, but why limit it so much? I just read a study about how the health effects of green tea really kick in after four cups a day, and I’m trying to work up to that.

Answer

I drink a lot of tea every single day. tbh it’s the best habit i’ve formed for the past 3 months. I usually put 6 bags of green tea or 4 bags if it’s black for one thermos full of water. that’s usually 1,5 liters and lasts 1-2 days.

Answer

In regards, not sure if you are using for measurements or data on limits. If you are going as recipe the measurements of teas*: you can just steep longer for potentence when using more than 8 oz. The difference is that the average amount of time needed for one bag of tea to steep for in would be less if you use less water.

*Tea that are mostly made of barks, seeds, or roots. For teas made of leaves you will need more since the equivalent will be diluted. Teas made of flowers have to be based on what flower as well as how much water. So it’s super specific if you want to be posh/ culinary literate.

If you are going on daily intake: use metrics system since it’s very direct.

Answer

It depends. Are you steeping it the regular amount of time and then adding ice and water to it or are you steeping it for longer? The longer you steep the more “potent” the tea is. Ex. You can steep the same tea bag for 3 minutes each in 3 different cups of hot water and still get 3 cups of tea.
