F25, 156cm/62Kg stuck in a plateau. Advice appreciated!

I’ve encountered plateaus before, but always got past them by either increasing fasting hours(normally 16:8, 18:6 these days) and/or exercising.

I tried to do the same thing this time. Included moderate speed running and moderate walking(5000 steps) in my routine and also reduced my calorie intake by 20%(around 1200 Kcals now). Any suggestions or idea about what I’m doing wrong?

Answer

Your BMI (admittedly a poor indicator) would put you at only just out of range. At that weight your body would be adapting metabolism to prevent further weight loss. It will continue to adapt to increased exercise and reduced calorie intake in order to maintain enough ‘fuel in the tank’ for times of when food isn’t available.

If no sugars (particularly fructose) are in your diet then it will have no option but to metabolize fat as a glucose source. I’d try strict keto or carnivore.
