Fasting Question

Hello All,

Tomorrow i will be starting a 5 day water fast. I plan on lifting 2 days during that window. Will I be losing much muscle in that process even though I’m doing heavy lifting to stimulate the muscles in my body? I’m 25 year old 230 lb male with around 26% body fat if that makes a difference at all. Thanks!

Answer

Honestly, at your age, height and weight, I wouldn’t worry about losing any muscle in only a 5 day fast.. Especially if you plan on lifting on a couple of those days. Just be sure to keep your electrolytes in check.

Good luck!!

Answer

I wouldn’t work out while fasting but you will lose muscle faster since your not repairing them from 1g/lb protein or bcaas I was 230 again after being 270 when I was 19 I’m 29 now I was 230 end of 2020 / 27yo then got. A FitTrack scale to watch my body fat % and it’s amazing I fasted 48s and dry fasted 48s and one time 50 hours dry like no water no food lost all kinds of weight but once I hit about 170lbs 20% bodyfat I started calisthenics and got to 152 15.5% bodyfat now I take sarms and currently at 162 17.6% bodyfat more muscle I look bigger trying to get shredded for summer was ripped last summer but natural
