Help: Weight loss is slow- Am I doing something wrong(CW:188.8 lbs GW 165 lbs)

I started my weight loss journey around Jan 21st, where I weighed 220.4 Lbs. I dint do IF then, it was mostly a low carb diet and weight training here and there.

Cut to present, I started doing IF strictly from 1st August(started with 16:8, then after 2 weeks moved to 18:6 and for the past week doing 20:6). When I started on August 1st, my weight was 193.7 lbs and today when I checked in the morning it was 188.4 lbs.I have only worked out 6 times in the past 27 days, which was basically weight training. I have a sedentary job so my steps are mostly 3-4k a day.

My current diet when I break my fast includes- a bowl of veggies, lentils curry, 1 piece bread and 1 piece of dark chocolate. My last meal I have four egg whites, 2 slices of brown bread and a spoon of humus.

I drink black coffee and water when I am fasting.

Is there something I need to do, I can feel inch losses(haven’t measured though). What should I do? Please help😊

Answer

I found increasing protein and decreasing starch helped, I aim for 30g+ of protein per meal. Also, add in some whole eggs too, they have important micronutrients and add more nutritionally than many slices of bread.

Keep going!

That’s a lot of bread. IMO the bread isn’t doing you much good. Keep the lentils, whoever said that didn’t notice you’re vegetarian. You need protein and lentils are a good source. I would try and get a little variety going just to expose yourself to more nutrients (maybe some salads? Tofu?), but if it works for you, no worries.

When I was in optimal health with a bikini body I used to start each day with 6 whole eggs with hot sauce and little Catsup and a big salad for dinner with added protein no croutons usually ranch dressing because it’s less carbs. Very little exercise, did some light weights in the gym like 2x week. I probably need to start doing this again, I’m no where near that shape now. But the egg yolks helped/gave me fuel and kept me full.
