How awful do you let yourself feel before breaking a fast early?

I’m 62 hours into my fast, I was going for 5 days but might cut down to just 3 if I can make that. Kinda surprised because I felt great until last night when I started to be fatigued.

I’ve been feeling tingly throughout the day, woke up nauseaus. Now that those problems are gone I’m kinda light headed.

Supplemented with magnesium, table salt, and potassium first day. Didnt do the magnesium the second day because the first day it basically went straight through me (taken via caplet). Today I just took potassium (No Salt Kind), but will take some Himalayan salt shortly once I work up the courage to drink it.

So I feel a little conflicted with giving up. I know a lot of what I see online says to give up at the first signs of feeling abnormal, then try again at a later date. I just hate giving up and losing my progress when what I’m experiencing is like having a mild hangover with no headache.

So any thoughts? Anyone have similar experience and managed to push through? Or maybe tried pushing through and regretted it?

Getting through the first 3 days is the hardest. If you can I’d reevaluate at 72 hours. With this short of a fast the electrolytes shouldn’t be messing with you unless you have been working out really hard during the fast.

For fatigue and mild ickyness/headache, I’d sleep through it or if not possible take a long walk (with water) before giving up. I often don’t need electrolytes every day, even on longer fasts (your mileage may vary) and its not typical to hit a truly significant electrolyte imbalance that early unless the fasting handshake didn’t make.

That said, I’d be on super alter, and with any new symptom I’d weigh again the pros/cons. Its really important to break before anything super negative happens.
