looking to do either rolling fast until im back to my original weight ( im about 225) my original weight at the start of covid was 180. Want to get back down to that weight but still maintain any muscle i put on during my bulk.
I would love to answer this for you as I’ve been doing a 96 hour (saltwater only) fast every month for 3 full years but my results are anecdotal and I get screamed at by all the non-fasters for posting about it. So go see for yourself but definitely do it.
I am about to put this to the test myself, as I am on a 7 day fast, while lifting daily, which I will follow by a refeed and then immediately a 5 day dry fast.
What I have heard is that it doesn’t matter. Muscle memory is so potent that whatever muscle you lose from a month of fasting you’ll regain in a week. Also, if you’re lifting while doing the fasting any muscle loss will be miniscule.
I don’t mind losing muscles. I started extended fasting today. I’m still taking fiber supplements though. (They make me feel full.) I am eating some seaweeds (very low calorie); I am drinking fiber powders (I hate how this has sugar calories).
