I do rolling 40:8.
I ate Sunday until 7pm, fast until Tuesday noon, eat 2x and then roll back into another 40 hour fast breaking on Thursday at noon.
I’m 27F, 5’6 and also only trying to lose about 15 pounds at this point (CW 150, GW 135)
I don’t have to mess with the salts or change my work our schedule (right now just outdoor running and yoga videos in my apartment). It’s a gentle cycle, no crazy mental hurdles to jump like with long fasts; if I want that food right now I just tell myself I’ll eat it tomorrow instead.
As a young male, everything is going to work for you much more effectively than if you were older or female.
You’re not hugely overweight so that’s the only “slow factor” here.
I personally don’t think you need to be doing such extended fasts. Multiple short fasts will likely get you there pretty quickly. ADF could be a really good approach.
If you’ve fasted several days and aren’t losing weight, you are gaining water weight.
I think on the day you slipped you should have continued eating up to normal calories (2000+) and then continued fasting the following day.The reason being, fasting and then giving your self starvation calories is going to signal to your body food is scarce, anything below 1300 calories IMO is not healthy, and limited calories can cause you to hold onto fat.
So personally I would reefed with nutritious food, then start your fast again.
FYI if you lose weight quickly it can come back on quickly, slow and steady wins the race, just do reduced calories each day, IM and 500 below maintenance and then fast every other day, you’ll lose 10lb in no time and it’ll be much more stable and healthy.
You can lose about 1lb of fat per day in a fast with light excercise(walking 1 hour)
2 x 5 day fasts will get you under 200lbs; first week you will lose an additional 5lb of water which will come back after you refeed.
However, if you are anything like me, you will lose almost all of that on day 4-5.
